Jesse Koreck—

Product designer & illustrator with 10+ years of experience in UI/UX for web and mobile applications.

I have blended two worlds for over a decade, crafting intuitive experiences as a UI/UX product designer for TextNow, and celebrating Canada's culture and heritage as an artist for the Royal Canadian Mint.
As a designer
As a product designer, I collaborate with directors, developers and product teams to deliver mindful, accessible and visually stunning interfaces and experiences for web and mobile applications.
At TextNow, I led design and supported cross-functional teams through ideation to launch, resulting in successful core product features. I provided support and design services to multiple teams: Android, iOS, Web, Growth, Monetization, Marketing, Core Messaging & Calling, Trust and Safety, and the Wireless team. I utilized user research with the UXR team to guide design decisions and improve user satisfaction.
I created wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using industry-standard design tools like Figma, and worked closely with developers to implement concepts. I delivered intuitive, accessible, and visually stunning interfaces and experiences that contributed to increased user engagement and conversion rates, exceeding KPIs.
I enjoy working alongside product designers and developers to build and drive design system development, ensuring consistency and scalability across all product platforms.
As an illustrator
As a technical and scientific illustrator, I collaborate with art directors, product teams, engineers and engravers to create distinctive illustrations for diverse clients, including publishers, government, wireless, e-commerce, SaaS, B2C, medical, science, fundraising and non-for-profits.
Since 2012, I’ve worked as an artist for the Royal Canadian Mint. Together, we've launched 11 minted coins, such as the 2021—$2 Canadian 'Toonie' circulation coin.
I’ve developed a diverse portfolio and skill set of technical and scientific illustrations over the years ranging from concept art, entertainment design, architectural renderings, isometric, phantom and cutaway illustrations, branding, icons, instructional drawings, scientific info-illustrations and nature studies.
My creative work blends art and information to convey concepts with clarity. I create designs and illustrations to delight, spark curiosity and help make complex ideas easy to understand.
Background
I have a visual background with a Bachelor of Applied Arts focused in Technical and Scientific Illustration. I find inspiration and tranquility in the outdoors, particularly through kayaking. I find joy in sharing the wonders and details of nature through my creative work. I reside in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario Canada with my wife and two lively kids.
